We can provide expert advice at all stages of EcIA, from initial site selection and promotion, to detailed scheme design, implementation, and long-term monitoring. Our advice and assessment is underpinned by our thorough understanding of relevant planning policy, legislation and case law.
Benefitting from backgrounds in both the public and private sector, our team has experience working on major developments ranging from minerals applications to large-scale residential and commercial developments, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
Aurochs Ecology is proud to have the experience and expertise to offer the following services:
- Botanical surveys using various methodologies such as Phase 1, UKHab and NVC surveys, in addition to bespoke surveys for key plant species.
- Biodiversity Net Gain assessment, completed in accordance with the Statutory Biodiversity Metric, and with reference to the UKHab classification system.
- Appropriately licensed and experienced ecologists capable of surveying a wide range of protected and notable species including bats, great crested newts, dormouse, barn owl, badger, water vole, otter and reptiles.
- Expert engagement with stakeholders, including liaison and negotiation with consultees, and attendance at public events including hearings and public exhibitions.
- Bespoke advice on land use and management to achieve target outcomes in both a planning and non-planning context.
- Thorough impact assessment and considered advice to ensure appropriate avoidance, mitigation or enhancement strategies, commensurate with the predicted effects.
- High quality ecological reporting for all stages of the planning process, including scoping assessments, Preliminary Ecological Assessments, standalone EcIA, Ecology Chapters within an Environmental Statement, and discharge of conditions.
